Timeshare in Puerto Vallarta – Presentation Scams

The easy thing about writing about timeshare presentations in Puerto Vallarta is that there are really only positive things to say. Gone are the days of the hard sell and bogus promoters on the streets and really the only danger you have is falling in love with a property and returning to Puerto Vallarta every year!

In the past, Puerto Vallarta, and timeshare in Mexico in general, got a lot of bad press, mainly relating to incidences of fraudulent promoters claiming to be selling timeshare properties that were not theirs to sell. These scams involved bogus sellers who were not authorized to sell timeshares taking potential buyers to a presentation to sell units on resorts that were either not theirs to sell or which had not been (and never would be) built. Fortunately for visitors to Puerto Vallarta today, all timeshare promoters are issued with a permit to operate on the streets and in public places like the airport and shopping malls. This means that consumers can check that their contact has a connection with a genuine timeshare resort.

Puerto Vallarta is also pretty good for following through with the free gifts that are offered as enticement for couples to attend a timeshare presentation. The reason for this is that there are very few genuine timeshare companies in Puerto Vallarta that offer over the top gifts. You should beware any promoter who offers you something that seems too generous. Usually the best timeshare companies will give discounts on cinema tickets, tours, dinners etc which is generally a good indication that they think their timeshare will sell itself rather than require a hard sell, guilt tactic for accepting an overly generous gift.

If you are approached by a timeshare promoter in Puerto Vallarta and have some free time, the worst that can happen is that you will be treated to a pleasant morning at a lovely resort. On the whole, timeshare presentations in Puerto Vallarta are pretty inoffensive.

If you are not interested in purchasing a timeshare, do not attend a timeshare presentation! The free gifts are not worth wasting a day of your vacation, and putting your hard earned money at risk of being scammed by the timeshare salespeople.

Most people would not want to attend a timeshare presentations on their vacations. Resorts know this and give away incentives to tourists to attract them to their sales floors. some of the gifts they give away are:

    Free breakfast
    Tours around the city
    Fishing trips
    Flying certificate
    3 Nights, 4 Days stays
Discounts during the stay if client is staying at the resort.
